This webinar will present a range of issues that must be considered on the distribution system when high penetrations of distributed energy resources (DER) are already present or expected. Methodologies for prioritizing which substations and feeders are candidates for new investment to support high penetration DER are presented. Some existing technologies for volt/var management such as mechanically switched capacitors and load tap changers are challenged in a highly variable generation environment alternatives will be discussed.
