The IEEE Computer Society Smart Grid Vision Project (CS-SGVP) Report describes 27 functional concepts within three categories with operational scenarios as well as assumptions for the grid characteristics and underlying technologies. As shown in the first article in this series, these functional scenarios are mapped to the technologies described in the Technological Concepts. The Functional Concepts can be described in the three categories as systemic, enabling, and performance.
